CASE STUDY

BRICKWORKS MUSEUM

We formed The BRICK People in June 2021. In July of that year, we stumbled across a small museum on the outskirts of Southampton – The Brickworks Museum in Burseldon.

It felt like fate, so we reached out to the museum to discuss ideas on working together. Within a week, we were on site, learning about the steam-powered brick museum and came up with a plan. We would host a LEGO-themed event marrying traditional and plastic bricks together just as lockdown restrictions lifted. The kicker….we had 30 days before event day!

The Brickworks Museum are a small operation and are overjoyed with their event days that pull in around 100 people per day. With one week left before our first event day, we only had 100 tickets remaining.

The day came around and it was fully sold out and around 300 visitors enjoyed the selection of displays and wide array of activities we had laid out…and learned about the museum thanks to the anagram trail we left around the rest of the site.

Everyone was so taken by it that we were given just 60 days for the second event to take place, which had also sold out and people were given a different mix of displays under a spooky Halloween theme.

Now we are back to normality, and we welcome up to 600 people per day, 3 visits per year, and 2 days per visit, raising over £5,000 per year for this little charity through events and exclusive sets they sell in their gift shop.
